The link should be a picture of the flower. It is a climbing plant that grows like a weed in south Texas. The picture of the flower on the ground was all I could get before the camera batteries died or I'd have the flower on the actual plant with the leaves to help identify it.
It also apears to really like lightbulbs that are not the kind that are made for plants because it is growing up through the walls and into the house.
Can you identify this plant from its flower? It is a creeper of some sort.?

Reply:this is a lovely plant it also grows in Lebenon, the ones in lebenon are more vibrant colored. in common terms it is called the clock flower, or atleast that what me and my friends call it. the real name is passion flower. it has a huge mass of necter, whenever we wanted yo pick one we had to be really careful, so the bumble bees don't attack.

Reply:I just found this on the web. It is a purple passion flower. I didn't go into really reading about it. I thought that the picture was a joke at first. It looks like something out of a scifi movie.

Reply:It reminds me of a passion fruit vine (passiflora edulis). Do a search on passiflora pictures it may be the passiflora x violacea.
Reply:It is a passion flower and is perennial in warmer climates. It is fast growing and will cover a trellis in no time at all.
